HARRY PARTCH AND THEN SOME

Harry Partch was an american composer and instrument creator. The regular notes in an ordinary insturment didnt cut it for him, so he invented his own insturments and wrote music for them. He was Interested in the potential musicality of speech, and felt that regular musical tuning didn’t reflect the subtle melodic contours of dramatic speech.

With this in mind, I wonder, could we build insturments that use the specific tones of an individuals voice? could we build an orchestra around an individual – im no muso, but the possibilities excite me.
